Programs & Services
It is important that you get the help you need to work through grief, guilt, sadness, anger, and other deep emotional issues that you may be feeling because of your abortion(s).  There is hope and healing waiting for you, but you must work through these deep issues in order to find forgiveness for yourself and others, and restore your relationship with God and with your loved ones.

We have a variety of programs and services available for you.  We have options for group support and individual counseling.  Read through the descriptions and decide which may be best for you.  Then contact us and begin your healing journey.

Weekend Retreats

By far, our most popular program is the Rachel's Vineyard weekend retreat.  We offer several weekend retreats per year, in both Catholic and Interdenominational formats.  The retreat is a unique combination of spiritual and emotional support which offers a safe and very Christ-centered environment.  We believe that you will find the retreat a supportive, confidential and non-judgmental place where you can express and release painful emotions and begin the healing process.  The retreats are open to women, men, and couples -- anyone who is hurting because of abortion.  Come and experience the mercy and love of God in the company of others who understand what you have been going through.  There is a registration fee to cover the cost of lodging, meals and program materials.

Weekly Support Groups

We offer weekly support groups throughout the year.  These are closed groups where you commit to attending every week for the duration of the program.  The groups can meet from 8 weeks to 13 weeks, and follow well recognized national, scripture-based healing models, such as Her Choice to Heal, Rachel's Vineyard, and others.  These weekly programs offer a very healing environment, allowing you to share your pain and your progress with others who are also making this journey.  A weekly support group will allow you to work through your grief and pain and learn of God's love for you and your children.  There is a minimal fee to cover the cost of program materials.

Professional & Pastoral Counseling Referrals

Sometimes professional counseling is the best choice to begin the healing journey.  Individualized support by a trained professional can help a great deal, either as a first step, or as issues arise for you after you attend a group program.  We can provide you with a referral to licensed therapists, pastoral counselors and ministers who are trained and knowledgeable about post-abortion trauma and healing.  Rachel Ministries does not charge for referrals and does not accept any compensation from anyone for making referrals.

Rachel Companion Peer Support

If you need immediate help and cannot wait for a scheduled program, or if you prefer to begin your healing journey with individualized peer support, we can offer peer counseling with someone who has been where you are and has received healing.  This 'Rachel Companion' will be there for you when you need someone to listen with compassion and understanding.  A Rachel Companion will meet with you regularly, perhaps over coffee, to be a friend, a companion, and someone who will give you a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on.  Our Rachel Companions are lay volunteers and not licensed counselors.  However, they have received training and have been where you are now.

Ongoing Support or 'Aftercare'

Once you have attended one of our programs, Rachel Ministries offers continued support and aftercare.  We have programs, services and events to foster your continued healing and faith walk.  There is also an opportunity to help others by volunteering your time and support in our ministry.  You can work behind the scenes, become a Rachel Companion, speak out about your experiences, or be part of our retreat team.
